Maura graduated from the University of Vermont in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and specializes in sports and orthopedic rehab for people of all ages and activity levels. We utilize a variety of techniques including Postural Restoration, exercises, manual techniques, functional mobilizations, aquatic therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to provide acute and chronic pain relief with regard to long term prevention strategies. Our goal is to maximize your ability to participate in activities of daily living as well as your occupational, recreational and athletic endeavors.
Postural Restoration is a therapeutic approach that assesses multiple systems in the body including the respiratory, musculoskeletal and nervous system. If those systems are not working together at the correct time in the correct position, dysfunctional patterns of movement occur that lead to stress and strain on tendons, ligaments, muscles and ultimately cause pain.
