I’ve been treated by Dr. David Boisvert at Bedford Chiropractic for several sports-related issues, (foot, rib, groin and hip) His treatments have significantly reduced my pain and improved my ability to train and compete, even at the varsity level in track and cross country at Colby College. Dr. Boisvert’s use of techniques such as ART, Graston, Chiropractic adjustments has been extremely effective, and he continues to help me with injury prevention and recovery for high-level competition. I would highly recommend Bedford Chiropractic and Dr. Boisvert to any athlete looking for expert, results driven care.

I came to Dr. Boisvert after developing severe plantar fasciitis at the end of my most recent Ultimate frisbee season, likely from 10+ years of competition at the elite college, club, and national team levels. I'd had plantar problems a few years back, but was able to manage them with ankle mobility exercises, ice, and rest. When I developed plantar issues this time around, I tried resting, icing, mobility, calf strengthening, inserts, three different PTs, a podiatrist, acupuncture, and lots of ibuprofen, but nothing helped. Despite my best efforts to play through what felt like knives stabbing into my feet, my "injury" was affecting my on field performance. A friend who had similar feet issues recommended Dr. B to me. I was surprised because I didn't know that chiropractors did much with feet. After assessing me, Dr. B explained that I actually had plantar fasciosis, in which years of damaging my feet through cleat sports had left stiff, inelastic scar tissue in my feet. He warned it would be a long term treatment process, since coaxing the body to heal years of damage takes time. I decided to commit to fixing my feet, even though I knew I wouldn't be experiencing improvement in the short term events I planned to compete in. I'm EXTREMELY glad I did. 6 months later I was back to going on runs pain free. I'm writing this review after seeing him for 5 years and am still pain free in my plantar fascia. It is truly incredible how he has helped my body heal. After seeing Dr. B for my feet, I continued to see him for other injuries. He has helped me deal with shoulder dislocations and surgeries, knee problems, hip flexor issues, and most recently, Achilles tendinitis. I have been seeing Dr. B for 5 years and of all the problems listed above, he has helped with every single one. As his primary method, Dr. B uses Graston to break up and regenerate the dead scar tissue, which restores the tissue functionality which improves symptoms. It also has the very important side benefit of allowing the body to heal itself, even outside of treatment. He also uses manual manipulation and Active Release Therapy to restore mobility to my lower back. In general, he's just a genuinely friendly guy and is more than happy to answer the numerous questions I ask. I very very highly recommend Dr B., and it is my hope that writing this review helps someone discover that Dr. B might be the solution to their body problems. If you're willing to commit to his treatment plan, he WILL help you.

As a competitive cyclist and avid skier in my early 40's, I have really enjoyed and benefited from working with Dr. Boisvert over the past year or so. My body is showing signs of accumulated micro-injuries after years of racing bicycles competitively and lots of other high-stress outdoor activity, and Dr. Boisvert has taken a comprehensive "whole-body" and long-term approach to working on my issues week after week. My lower back and both knees have had increasing pain over the past several years, and after trying a more "traditional" chiropractor with limited success, I was referred to Dr. Boisvert. He takes a completely different approach, and by combining chiropractic "adjustments" with ART and Graston methods, is able to reverse long-term damage and re-train the body to mobilize properly again. I have seen incredible improvement in my ability to exercise and compete with less pain and interruption, and Dr. Boisvert is always willing to give advice about when to take a pause from certain activities for a period if necessary, in order to keep me mobile and competitive for years to come! I would highly recommend him to any athlete looking for a longer-term solution to pain and mobility issues, rather than a quick band-aid "adjustment" or medication-based cover-up of issues.
