Dr. Karena Wu is Owner and Clinical Director of ActiveCare Physical Therapy® in NYC and Mumbai. She is a native of Los Angeles, California. She has been practicing physical therapy for 19 years in New York City. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the Program In Physical Therapy at Columbia University and received her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University. She has advanced training in manual therapies, specifically in the Maitland Australian Approach and Myofascial Release. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Karena is also a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Kinesiology Tape Practitioner and Pilates Instructor. She holds LSVT BIG, FMS and SFMA Level 1 certifications as well. Karena is a healthcare expert on CBS, NBC, NY1, PIX11, Verizon Fios, Fox News, The Doctors, and Dr. Oz. She is the Medical Director for the Association of Volleyball Professionals.Established in 2003. Karena Wu is the Owner & Clinical Director, Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She is certified in Manual Therapy, Pilates, Strength and Conditioning, Maitland Manual Therapy, Kinesiology and McConnell Taping. The focus is on holistic care using advanced manual training, Pilates for rehabilitation, Kinesiology taping and functional training. The PT's on site have been trained by Karena. We strive to offer quality care using a one-on-one business model. We are out of network providers but accept insurance with out of network benefits. Please call the office.
