Is there a hidden cause of migraines?

First, let me start by saying, migraines are no joke.  And I'm sure being a migraine sufferer you know how debilitating they can be. When a migraine hits you, all you want is for the pain to go away and go away fast. As a chiropractor who has helped hundreds of people get rid of their headaches, I understand that you want relief and want it immediately, but immediate pain relief from various medications won’t offer you long, lasting relief.

It’s important that you find relief that will last and will not cause you to suffer unwanted side effects.

Look, there are so many different migraine medications out there, and every, single one of them has side effects.  In addition, these medications only cover the symptoms of your pain at best.  They do not offer, real, long-term solutions. Did you know that many of these medications are often used to treat other conditions, such as depression? Below is a list of alternative methods that may help in overcoming that debilitating pain:

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

These are healthy fats that help fight inflammation that causes many types of headaches and migraines. These fatty acids are found in flax seeds or oils and fresh salmon or fish oil supplements.


This is a type of therapy that can be done in the comfort of your own home. It is really simple. The first step is to take a shower and make the water as hot as you can handle without burning yourself for a few minutes. Then, switch the water to cold for another two or three minutes. Then, after 2-3 minutes, switch it back to hot for another 2-3 minutes.  You'll want to keep switching the water back and forth from hot to cold water for about 20 minutes.  This will help increase blood flow.

Upper Cervical Chiropractic
