In 1961, Dr. Zelm and his wife, Joann, opened the clinic in an era when chiropractic was not considered "mainstream". Yet, clinical excellence and altruism grew a thriving practice and in 1987 Dr. Zelm was joined by his son, the late Dr. Mark Zelm. He served as president of the corporation and helped grow it to the two locations. In 1990, the second clinic in McFarland, was created and led by the Zelms' daughter, Dr. Ann Metzler. The family business continues to operate under the vision and practice philosophies of Dr. Mark, who was an outstanding doctor, exemplary leader, and a sincerely compassionate man. His physical presence is dearly missed by all.
