I just finished up therapy for a shoulder separation sustained playing hockey the beginning of January. I would like to publicly thank Anthony and Mackenzie, they were fantastic. They were both very professional and friendly. Anthony listen to everything I had to say and came up with the perfect exercises and movements I needed! McKenzie did a great job showing me how and what they wanted me to do. This was the first time in almost 30 years of playing that I had a major injury and needed help to recover. Thanks so much both of you, as I said to Mackenzie on my way out the last visit, I received great care and consideration in my recovery and it was enjoyable because of both of them and I hope I never need them again! I began treatment with Anthony Dufour after a sudden, acute knee injury during a hike in June 2023. It took over 8 months to get an official medical diagnosis of a torn meniscus and ACL and a further 2 months to receive knee surgery to repair the damage. I was a mess especially in the beginning when we didn't know exactly what the issue was. I was experiencing frustration with the new painful limits on my mobility and the sluggish system of medical diagnosis and treatment. There were a lot of meltdowns which were met with empathy, support and proactive therapy. After my knee surgery, I didn't bounce back immediately so my therapy continued along with the angst and tears of frustration at the slow progress. I was encouraged that improvement would come eventually if I persisted. My regular visits kept me motivated to keep strengthening my lower body and celebrate the milestones of recovery. I can honestly say physiotherapy works if you work it in your daily practice. I am able to movements and activities today that I absolutely could not do even 6 months ago. I can't say enough about Anthony Dufour and his team at Active Body Physical Therapy. They are my go-to!
