Getting Care from Home
Many providers on MedXimity offer telehealth appointments, allowing you to see a doctor via video call from the comfort of your home.
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth (or telemedicine) is a way to receive healthcare remotely using video technology. Instead of visiting an office, you connect with your provider through a secure video call.
Finding Telehealth Providers
Look for the telehealth badge on provider profiles:
- Use the "Telehealth Available" filter when searching
- Look for the video icon on provider listings
- Check if "Video Visit" is an available appointment type
How Video Visits Work
- Book Your Appointment: Select "Video Visit" or "Telehealth" as the appointment type
- Receive Link: You'll get a video link via email before your appointment
- Join the Call: At your appointment time, click the link to connect
- See Your Provider: Have your appointment just like an in-person visit
- Follow Up: Get prescriptions, referrals, or follow-up instructions
Technical Requirements
For a smooth telehealth experience, you'll need:
- Device: Computer, tablet, or smartphone with camera and microphone
- Internet: Stable internet connection (at least 5 Mbps recommended)
- Browser: Updated web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
- Environment: Quiet, private space with good lighting
