Marty has been a licensed physical therapist for over 30 years. During that time she has worked with some of the country's leading orthopedic surgeons, professional athletes and sports teams; but her greatest joy continues to be helping each of her patients recover from injury and, in the process, discover their full physical potential. Marty has herself been a nationally-ranked runner as well as a triathlete. She continues to run, bike, swim, surf and compete in the occasional mountain-bike triathlon. She is also the mother of two teenage boys, and is active in her community.Ultrahealth was founded, and is still owned, by Marty Mattox, a licensed physical therapist. Originally at 149 New Montgomery, the clinic is now located on the lobby level of the historic Mills Building at 220 Montgomery Street (and Bush). Our guiding principal has always been a deep and abiding belief in our patients: Not only in their power to recover from injury (with a little help from our highly trained and caring staff) but also in their ability to achieve a higher level of health, fitness and athleticism. We encourage all our patients to become more active and have a number of programs to help achieve this goal, including gym use, exercise classes and personal training. All of these programs are also open to the general public. Over the years, we have become involved in a number of community programs. We are currently a teaching center for UCSF's physical therapy school.
