In 2016, Dr. Tara learned the incredible importance of proper tongue movement, strength, and posture. Amazingly, this was not taught in dental school (and is not commonly taught in any other schools right now). Since then, she has dedicated her career to learning more about the tongue. In May 2018, Dr. Tara closed her traditional dental practice, and started focusing solely on tongues. She prides herself on being informed of the most up-to-date knowledge and studies. She seeks out and attends relevant continuing education as much as possible (monthly, on average). Dr. Tara has an in office lactation consultant to work with breastfeeding babies. She also works closely with providers such as orofacial myologists, speech and feeding therapists, cranial sacral therapists, and pediatric and adult chiropractors.Dr. Tara created Smart Mouth to offer her community of Las Vegas (where she was born and raised) a much needed and missing service. Oral health, traditional medicine, and even holistic health is missing what she thinks is the most important piece of the puzzle. The health and development of your child is reliant on proper tongue movement, strength, and posture. Your health and aging is reliant on this as well.
