Stephanie Owens-Burkhart, PT, DPT, CSCS, DNcert., Certified Pilates Instructor - a graduate of the University of Miami Doctorate of Physical Therapy program (Go Canes!). She has her BS is Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University. She is Pilates for Rehabilitation certified through one of the world's leading Pilates programs - Polestar Pilates. In addition, she has her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy and Illinois Physical Therapy Associations, and is certified in Dry Needling and CranioSacral Therapy. Dr. Owens-Burkhart is committed to treating the patient in a holistic manner, using a variety of techniques, such as: manual therapy, identifying and correcting muscle imbalances, Pilates and yoga inspired exercises, as well as functional movement screening and sport-specific training/rehab programs.I am a 2nd generation Doctor of Physical Therapy who has been lead clinician and operator of Orthopedic Physical Therapy Services and Refresh Pilates & Wellness in the SW suburb of Homer Glen. The clinic has flourished for over 30 years (it was started by my mother!) and I have always wanted to bring the magic of a family owned and operated private practice to the city. I am realizing my dream now with River North Physical Therapy. The 5000+ sqft loft space is an amazing setting for your journey out of pain and into good health. We specialize in Pilates-based rehab, which puts an emphasis on relearning how to move correctly and in a pain-free manner. We also have a large gym area that can accomodate any orthopedic rehabilitation. We know you have options when it comes to physical therapy, but we can assure you that the individualized, hands-on treatment you receive at River North Physical Therapy is the best there is.
