Metta coop is currently owned and managed by 3 of our 10 therapists: Molly F., Jennifer S., and Esra S. Collectively, we have over 10 years working at Metta and have served over 500 clients! Changes in ownership are a natural and healthy part of cooperative worker-ownership. We want to give special recognition and gratitude to Marvin S., who worked hard with us for our initial launch as a cooperative; and to Laura Kalman, the original founder of Metta Integrative Wellness Center, who gracefully and trustingly passed her business into our hands. In 2009, Metta Integrative Wellness Center opened as a group of independent massage therapists, acupuncturists, and mental health professionals offering a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to holistic wellness. Over a decade of evolution, we have become known for our massage services, that integrate exceptional and varied specialties including craniosacral therapy, cupping, hot stones, aromatherapy, and trigger point. In 2021 we converted to a worker-owned cooperative! The skill and varied expertise of our therapists allows us to provide a total wellness offering that is unmatched in Baltimore.
