Hayes Valley Wellness was the vision of Dr. Matt Colman. Growing up the son of a Medical Doctor he always felt that the model of treating symptoms and disease was not the way to achieve optimal health. His education began at the age of 13 when he became interested in natural health. He has never looked back, getting a degree in Physiology from UCSB, his Doctor of Chiropractic, and endless study into using nutrition and whole food concentrates to create a successful healing center that reflects his philosophy. His practice is an echo of his world. He's an athlete, musician, father, student, animal lover, the list goes on. He has become educated in handling the intricacies of how to help the different people that walk in his door, the professional musician to the full time student, the pregnant mom and newborn to the hard core athlete, and most everything in between. Hayes Valley Wellness continues to expand it's services while staying true to its philosophy.In 2005 Dr. Colman took over an existing chiropractic office. Having a background in nutrition he began incorporating nutrition into his chiropractic care. His patients needs are what truly developed the business. As pateints began coming to him with conditions outside of the typical back and neck pain issues, such as insomnia, chronic headaches and tmj problems, immune disfunction, pregnancy and infant related issues, etc, he took it upon himself to become an expert, a doctor they could count on. He thanks his many patinets with being his true teacher, helping him develop what is now Hayes Valley Wellness. Though this is how Dr. Colman developed Hayes Valley Wellness, his journey goes back years to a chance encounter between a chiropractor and his loyal dog Shadow.
