Dr. Calahan was born and raised in Long Beach, Ca. She is a part of the third generation of her family to graduate from Wilson. While at Wilson, she led her soccer team to a CIF, State, and National Championship her senior year. she went on to play division one collegiate soccer for the University of San Diego, where she obtained her BA in Sociology. Dr. Calahan received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences in April of 2016. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and she received the Dr. Lester McCoy Clinical Excellence Award. in her free time, Dr. Calahan loves spending time with her husband, Mike, and son, Jack (10mo). They spend a lot of time going for walks in our neighborhood and hanging out at coffee shops. They love coffee and cooking meals together. She is also an avid reader and loves going to bookstores to pick out new books for herself and for Jack. Our nightly routine involves lots of books so we have quite the library.Dr. Calahan started Calahan Family Chiropractic in 2019 after her family moved to Aliso Viejo, CA. She saw the need of Chiropractic and Perinatal/Pediatric Care in her community. She decided to move her business to be where she lived so she could build a strong community!

Dr. Calahan has taken an extra 200 hour certification on perinatal and pediatric adjusting through the ICPA to effectively care for this special population. Chiropractic care during pregnancy can be beneficial for the normal physiological function of the mother and baby. During pregnancy, chiropractic care focuses on alignment and balance in the musculoskeletal structures of the pelvis. Proper pelvic alignment helps the mother have an easier pregnancy and can also ease the birth process! This is done through the Webster technique. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nervous system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This optimizes uterine function and allows for a safer, easier birth. Dr. Calahan has completed her Certification of the Webster technique Through the ICPA.
