Dr. Nguyen completed his Pain Fellowship/Training. with distinction, at the internationally prestigious Beth Israel Medical Center. He has extensive experience in the treatment of Acute and Chronic Pain conditions. He graduated from Rush Medical School, Chicago, and finished his Residency at U.C.L.A. Dr. Nguyen is double board certified in Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with comprehensive expertise in minimally invasive spine procedures, arthritis, headaches, sport injuries, electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS), addiction medicine and narcotic/opioid medical management. Dr. Nguyen is a native of Southern California and received his Bachelors of Science at University of California, Irvine (U.C.I.). He is married, and enjoys surfing, hiking, sports, and spending time with family. "I understand that pain affects every aspect of my patients' lives. Ever since a high school golf mishap I have had uncomfortable back pain and I finally decided to go to a doctor and figure out what was going on. I'm SO glad I did. Dr. Nguyen was extremely thorough when asking questions about my pain and very knowledgable. He told me what the problem was and even suggested some at home stretches I can do to help with the pain. Everyone in the office was super friendly and it was very clean. Fingers crossed my back pain is gone for good, but if it ever comes back I will definitely be visiting Dr. Nguyen again.

I've had lower back pain since a car accident in 1995 but was constantly put off by my doctors who could find nothing wrong via an MRI. Dr. Nguyen really listened to my experience, and figured out I had an old muscle injury that was affecting my entire lower back and core. He recommended physical therapy and while that was not the most pleasant experience, today the back pain is gone. I was really appreciative to find someone who was willing to help me and not just look at my chart and dismiss what I knew I was feeling. I also appreciate he did not jump straight to surgery like a lot of specialists do but rather took some time to figure out if it was spine related or muscular.
